Built to demonstrate Galileo differentiators for automated driving
The RELIANT4AD consortium was built with the objective of promoting and demonstrating the role of Galileo differentiators for automated driving.
Its work is intended to support a viable business plan and a short to medium term industrialisation roadmap. The partners also have a history of working together, reducing development, integration, and validation risks.

Partner roles across the project
- Thales Alenia Space acts as Prime Contractor and leads project management and coordination. It is responsible for GNSS-based core technologies, including HAS implementation and the analysis and implementation of Galileo differentiators. In close collaboration with Valeo, Thales Alenia Space also performs the safety analysis and supports the fusion and control of the positioning techniques included in the project.
- Valeo contributes as an automotive Tier 1 supplier and vision-based positioning expert. It handles vision-based positioning using cutting-edge radar and lidar technologies, supports safety analysis, integrates the solution, and is responsible for the final demonstration in a Valeo vehicle.
- STMicroelectronics contributes as a global semiconductor company and independent integrated device manufacturer. Its automotive portfolio includes the Teseo GNSS receiver family, designed to meet the quality and service-level requirements of the automotive market. STMicroelectronics provides a Teseo V/TeseoApp chipset tailored to the project needs and supports Thales Alenia Space with advanced GNSS receiver expertise.
- FDC is an independent Paris-based SME created in 1989 to support national and European institutions with technical expertise in space applications and security. FDC is responsible for OSNMA implementation and anti-spoofing resilient algorithms. It also supports market planning, business analysis, and commercialisation activities with the consortium, building on secure GNSS module experience from projects including FOSTER ITS, PATROL, and ACCURATE.
- Thales SIX leads collaborative positioning and its integrity monitoring. Its expertise covers navigation warfare and disputed GNSS environments, including solutions that enhance GNSS resilience such as anti-jamming, spoofing detection, and spoofer localisation, as well as alternative positioning and navigation approaches without GNSS, including ranging-only collaborative positioning and GNSS-hybridised ranging positioning.
A combined route from research to adoption
This structure is designed to keep RELIANT4AD product-oriented from the start: the solution must not only demonstrate Galileo added value services, but also support a realistic route toward short and medium term use in automated driving systems.
